My, oh, Mayo. How is it May already? May brings flowers, graduations, mother’s day, and margaritas! While the actual purpose of Cinco de Mayo is to commemorate the Mexican victory over the French occupation in 1862 (which is considered a huge part of the success of the American Civil War). This loosely translates into the celebration of Mexican heritage in the United States. In the LA area there are lots of festivities going on. So why not partake in the celebrations… 1) Fiesta Broadway, Sunday, May 8, 11 am - 6 pm, FREE A mile-long street fair with music, games and vendor booths in downtown LA from Broadway from 1st to Olympic, in downtown Los Angeles.
