Had A Great Day @ DWELL ON DESIGN Yesterday, the West Coast's Largest Design Event!

What an inspiring day we all had @ Dwell On Design's 3 day celebration of modern design @ the Los Angeles Convention Center.  This year their motto was, "Go Big. Find Design" and indeed they did!  With over 300 exhibitors we definitely had a full day.  We wanted to share with you some of our favorite discoveries from this weekends show. 1.  RECLAIMED, REPURPOSE, RE-USED wood has been the buzz of our industry for the last year plus, but these folks took it to the next level! This Oval Reclaimed Wood and Glass coffee table was absolutely one of my favorite pieces at the show.  A definite WOW piece! Reclaimed top mixed with this steel shelf base bottom.  You really had to be there to appreciate just how rad this coffee table is. We all thought the base was mirrored glass however it is polished silver cut with a laser to exactly reflect the shape of the wood top. Made from salvaged wood this can be used as a dining table or a desk ,either way it works. From Minarc, a local Santa monica design studio. 2.  THE TIMELESS CLASSICS This beautiful rocking chair from Sam Maloof Woodworking epitomizes how simplicity equals sophistication. 2 words:  Herman Miller, need we say more? 3. THE FABULOUSLY OBSCURE Sustainable Chicken Coop's by Chicken Co-Op   Not what what we thought we would find from this event but....I want one!  Check out more about the NUMI, Kohler's new and most advanced toilet ever. Let's just say this, it does EVERYTHING except actually go to the bathroom for you. Those are some BIG ASS FANS and that is not an understatement. Ok I'm a bit of a sports nut so I LOVED this concept.  Chairs made of actual game turf from some of the biggest stadiums in the U.S.  We were told that this one was made from the turf at San Diego State's field. Thanks again DWELL you wowed us, floored us, and inspired us once again.
